Gideon Lantern

Terms of service

Effective 20 October 2026

Gideon Solutions, LLC (“we”, “us”) runs Gideon Lantern (“Lantern”) at gideonlantern.com. These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use it. By creating an account you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Lantern.

What Lantern does

Lantern emails you once a week to ask whether you're okay. If you don't answer, it reminds you, sends a final notice at least 24 hours before your deadline, and then sends the message you prepared, once, to each recipient who accepted your invitation. How it works describes every step and deadline.

What Lantern doesn't do

Your part

Subscriptions and payment

Your information

Our privacy policy says what we store, why, and who helps us run Lantern. It is part of these terms. You can download everything Lantern holds about you, or delete your account, from your Account page.

Acceptable use

Don't use Lantern to harass, threaten or deceive anyone, to send spam or unlawful content, to impersonate someone, or to probe, overload or break the service. We may suspend or close an account that does. A suspended or closed account's message is not sent.

Ending

You can delete your account at any time. That ends your subscription immediately, without a refund for the rest of the period, and stops Lantern for good; email already sent can't be recalled. If we ever stop running Lantern, we'll tell you by email at least 60 days ahead and refund the unused part of any payment.

Limits on our liability

Lantern is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. This doesn't limit any responsibility the law doesn't allow us to limit, including for our own fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina and applicable federal law. Please contact us first, so we can try to put things right directly. If we can't, disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them elsewhere.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll email you before it takes effect and update the date at the top of this page.
